Introduction
The
Online 2020 Club is a non-political organisation formed in
1986 on the basis of common interests in IT and being a platform
for IT enthusiasts to share knowledge and collaborate. The
club will provide the necessary know-how and expertise to
organise IT and Internet training programmes and classes on
the use of application software, graphics software, desktop
publishing software. The Club will also conduct seminars and
talks on IT, e-commerce, e-government as well as to promote
the use of Internet and Internet technologies to the community.
Mission
We
believe that instead of simply providing citizens with fishes,
we can teach them how to fish. In respect to governance, rather
than simply providing citizens with information about government
programmes, we can offer them empowerment and knowledge to
seek out for remedial action for their own benefits. IT education
and knowledge is key to such interactive and rich experience.
Our main mission is to foster the creation of a progressive,
forward looking, technology savvy and modern society which
forms part of the international community.
Objectives
- To promote
the use of IT and Internet among children, young adults and
community at large.
- To enhance
awareness of IT and its profound impact on every aspect of
our social, economic and political fabrics e.g. convergence
of the concepts of PCs, Internet, communications, content,
computing, digitization, e-economy, virtual reality et cetera.
- To provide
hands-on experience and learning opportunity on IT To offer
equal opportunity to community to acquire IT skills and knowledge
for the betterment of their lives and career.
- To create
virtual linkages and bondages among the community and different
generations.
- To eventually
promote IT and Electronic-Commerce as a formidable engine
of growth and as a nucleus of innovation and creative ideas
